My main drive is a positive impact on society. This can take many forms throughout my work.
A former software engineer, I was drawn to the study of the human mind and graduated from a Research Master in Cognitive Science while also holding two full-time research positions at two of the Netherlands’ highly ranked research institutions.
I returned to the industry, this time as an entrepreneur. I co-founded two sustainable businesses that deal with production and remanufacturing of hardware equipment because I believe in turning back the e-waste tide.
As I became increasingly aware of inequalities and lack of opportunities caused by lack of access to quality education, I am currently dedicating my time towards a change in education. I am particularly interested in models that can be applied in Southeast Europe and models suitable for at-risk communities too.

I work on a project called Studio Traversée, which is an education initiative aimed at adolescents considered to be at risk (school dropouts, refugees). Studio Traversée offers training in Game Design.
I have two main roles here: I work in the pedagogical engineering team and I am also conducting a marketing study in order to decide on the growth strategy of Studio Traversée for the following year.
Mission to Ondu is a non-profit organization whose aim is to promote the prolonged usage of consumer electronics in order to reduce waste. We organize events and workshops where we invite people to bring their broken devices and we empower them by teaching them how to diagnoze and fix them, when possible.
I teamed up with two Romanian architects to create, manage and grow an online platform and community for facilitating the short term rental of commercial space (the so called pop up shops) as a means to address two problems: the underdevelopment of creative industries and the regenaration of abandoned urban space.
The idea was received with enthusiasm by potential tennants, but our in-dept marketing research showed the landlords not to be ready for this model of property rental. We did not succeed in securing the funding for the amplre marketing campaign that became clear was needed and we decided to shut down Pop Up Street.
